Instruction from Whirlpool Not Good (No problem with Part Select)
Trial and error. The instructions from Whirlpool included with the part had minuscule pictures so it was hard to follow. The written instructions were good. But "a picture is worth a thousand words." Eventually it worked. The metal replacement part is much better the the plastic original. Not a good reflection on Whirlpool.

OEM roller wheels were on plastic shaft which broke. Replacement was on stainless steel bracket with metal shaft, better quality. Don't think I will have to replace again.

Upper rack wheels had begun to break off. Shoddy design and materials.
I carefully followed the video instructions step by step. They were detailed, clear, and pointed out how to avoid installation mistakes. WIthout the video I would have been tempted to just figure it out myself - ("Hey, I'm a handy guy. How hard could it be, right?"). With the video I sailed right through with no dumb errors. The new rack adjuster wheel set is much sturdier than the Whirlpool original. It made sense to get new rack stops at the same time. Thank you, PartSelect.
The factory guide wheel snapped off of the plastic rack support
I followed the installation instructions included with the kit, they are not the clearest or the most detailed but they allowed me to finish the job in under 15 minutes. Only one side was broken but I replaced both sides in the time. Not a big job and very easy for a DIYer with average mechanical ability.

Rack adjuster wheel broke. Had to replace entir unit.
The install video was invaluable, and made installation a breeze. Unfortunately it did not include instructions to remove the original adjuster — which was of a slightly different design as the replacement. I eventually got the old part off using a screw driver to pry the plastic snap connections apart.

Three out of four wheel broke off of upper rack track after just two years
I order parts online from partselect, watched a YouTube video for five minutes that gave detailed instructions on how to install new upper rack assembly and in less than 20 minutes repair was complete. Piece of cake!
The rack adjusters on the machine had failed. The wheels had broken off.
I did this repair after watching the video on PartSelect's website. It went exactly as it was shown on the video. The video did not show removal of the old components. None of the old adjuster parts need to be saved for re-use so if they break upon dis-assembly it does not matter. This project went about as well as a project could. I certainly recommend this repair using the parts on PartSelect's website. Very good!

Upper Rack wheel broke off /Front track stops replaced
The upper rack adjuster kit was replaced exactly as the video showed. I felt it was not very complicated and the new parts look more hefty then the original parts.
Front track stops was just a matter of snapping them into place.
Pictures need to be more clear would help tremendously

The right hand side of the upper rack isn’t connected to the metal track anymore and therefore can’t hold any weight on the right side. Is there a better part to fix this.

The adjuster kit would come with all parts for the right and left side of the upper rack and would be the only parts that would fix the issue you're having. I hope this helps!

The top rack of my dishwasher falls down as the clips that go into the wheels are broken so they slide out of the wheels and the rack falls down. All of them on both sides are like this. What parts would i need to buy? My model# is 665.14263k112 and the serial# is f24805333. Kenmore. Thanks.

The plastic piece on the upper rack has broken off the cage side of the unit (piece fits into the white wheel in the track on the outer wall) as a result the entire upper rack falls down off the rollers onto the rack below, can you help me with the replacement part to repair? Thanks!

How do I get the old rack adjuster off. The video shows removing the rack stops and then the rack from the rails, then *poof* the old adjuster is gone in the next cut scene.

Hi Carl,
Thank you for your question. Remove the older adjusters by inserting a screwdriver into the clips on the adjuster cover and prying them off very carefully. Next, detach the front and rear adjuster support straps from the tines by depressing them, and remove them from the rack adjuster. Note the location of the old adjuster-which should be four tines in, and pry off the stop clips to detach the old adjuster. You should then be able to push the adjuster upwards. The two clips at the back need to be depressed in order to get the piece that holds the adjuster on, then you can pop the inside clip out and take the adjuster off. Align the new adjuster on the rack, and replace the clips to hold the adjuster on. Replace the front and rear support straps above the wheels. Position the adjuster housing by aligning the locking lever in the adjuster slot, then snap the cover on to secure. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
