What is the difference between part# 42 and 42a for a shelf?

Someone asked what the difference was between 42 and 42a and it was answered that 42 is for the upper shelves and 42a is the bottom shelf. However, all my shelves are the same. What are the dimensions of 42a? I understand 42 is 14.62" x 27.88" and all my shelves are about 16.5" deep. I am unsure then which shelf to buy. Thank you.

The answer from the page for part 42 says this: "I am showing the top shelf measures , 27-7/8" wide x 15-1/4" deep and the bottom measures, 27-7/8" wide x 17-1/4" deep. Sounds like you are looking for the bottom shelf, part number ps10060273." Then here, for 42a, the answer says it measures 27-7/8" wide x 15-1/4". Which is it?

After reading all the discussions about the wire rack shelving for this model freezer, i am extremely confused. I have physically measured the shelves in both my freezers, and the dimensions discussed in the questions/answers on this forum are not adding up.To begin with, there are 3 upper shelves in both my freezers that measure 27.88 wide x 16.38 deep and 1 lower shelf that measures 27.88 wide x 14.38 deep. The wall to wall width remains consistent in both my freezers not making it possible for the shelf widths to fluctuate, and the depth of the lower shelf is shallow to accommodate the build out for the compressor. Can you please take a physical over all measurement of both shelves for me so i can be sure that i will be ordering the proper part. Ty.

Hi Wayne, thank you for your question. This part: 297441902 (approximately 26" x 16"), is the very bottom shelf on your appliance. This part: 5304509721 (approximately 26" x 15"), would be the other shelves in your appliance. Unfortunately though both parts are no longer available with no substitute part to replace them.
