Do i need any specila tools to replace wave guide cover
For model number PEB7226SF1SS
Good Day Thomas. Thank you for your question in regards to your unit (Model Number PEB7226SF1SS). Based on our research, you will need a screw driver to remove the screws securing the wave guide cover to your unit. Make sure before you remove the wave guide cover that you have unplugged your device from the power source to avoid any injuries. Once you have removed the old wave guide cover you will need to clean the surface underneath it to remove dirt, dust and debris. You can then install the new wave guide cover. We hope this helps. Best Regards.

Hello Linda, thank you for your question! We would suggest checking the two parts. The most common fix to the issue is the Spring, part number PS8754121. The second is Lever Lock, part number PS8753548. We hope this helps.

Microwave stopped working in the middle of cooking but continued to count the time down. Turntable stopped as well. Clock and controls work but will not start when the start button is depressed. Will start counting down the time as if it were on. Any suggestions? Thanks.
For model number PEB7226SF1SS
Hi Donna, thank you for writing in. Our research shows that this issue is usually caused by either a bad door switch part number PS8754465, a loose door lock part number PS952328 (which are pretty simple problems to fix). Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. We hope this helps.

How to replace light in microwave?
For model number PEB7226SF1SS
Hi Martin. Unplug the microwave and examine the cooking area. If you see a cover-plate, unscrew it to get at the bulb. If you don’t see a cover-plate on the interior wall, turn the microwave around and look for a cover on the back. Unscrew that cover to get at the bulb. When you see the bulb, turn it a quarter turn to the left and pull the base straight out. The bulb has two prongs, just like many automotive bulbs. Push in the new bulb and turn it a quarter turn to the right. Screw the cover-plate back on. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

Ask a Question

First, I read the PartsSelect DIY report by Linda, Warsaw, IN. With confidence, I purchased the magnetron. Upon receipt, I took the built-in microwave out of the cabinet, set the unit on the kitchen floor, and was stopped cold by the Safety Torx nuts on the reverse of the unit. Borrowing the right wrench allowed the 20 minute start-to-finish part changeout and reinstallation of the unit in the cabinet to proceed. The old magnetron was the defective part. Discovery of the 10-year Parts-Only warranty on the less than 10-year old unit was insufficinet to guide me to take the unit in for their Labor bill to repair. New part in hand, it just was that easy - and assumed to be no less expensive.
Opened up back, saw a part that was burnt, so looked it up, on the website, ordered it, removed it with 2 screws then installed new one, I cleaned up the connector and put it back together. It's been working for a week now. Easy fix!
