Oven is not heating to temperature setting, i.E., setting to bake 400 only heats to 270; setting to broil heats properly. What can i do to get the oven working properly? Need to bake for the holidays. Help! Thank you!

Hello Jimi, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Temperature Sensor, PartSelect Number PS6883927. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. Hope this helps!

My right front range burner won't turn off and will go to full heat until i smack the front of the control panel, then will go back to normal operation. My unit was made feb. 2011which is after the recall for this model. Which part should i replace, the touch panel or surface element control for this issue? Thank you for any guidance.

Hi Emmett, Thank you for your question. If the right front burner element is not heating correctly, the issue may be either the touchpad or the electronic control board. Check the connections between the parts to see if they are fitted correctly. If the connections are fine, check the touchpad with a multi-meter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may use as a general reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. For the electronic control board, you will need to inspect it visually for signs of damage, wear or burn marks. If the electronic control board shows any of these signs, it will need to be replaced. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

How do I access the bake element when the access area is not punched out! It is solid metal with only a light scratch outline of an opening

Hello Debra, thank you for getting in touch. This unit has a hidden bake element in it and you will need to pull the range out and remove the rear cover. Once removed, there will be a spot at the bottom of the unit that will have 2 wires going to it where the bake element is. You would remove the cover over this area and disconnect the wires. The bake element should slide out at that point to be able to replace it. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Hello Kenn, thank you for getting in touch. According to our research, the issue is likely caused by a faulty surface element, part number PS3527760. If replacing it does not help, we would recommend replacing the PCB assembly, part number PS3530114. This board controls the surface elements. Replace Inner Oven glass because it shattered
Go onto youtube, such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ITkrwhDNMQ and watch similar videos for DYI. The process is very similar to other models.

Once the door is removed, place oven door on a towel or soft place so it does not scratch the door. Unscrew the screws and make sure you notice where each screw goes, so you know the process of where each screw goes when you re-assemble.

Once the inner cover is removed, remove the insulation, too so you don't damage it. Use Wet/Dry Shop Vac to clean the shattered glass. (WORD OF ADVICE: I did not remove the insulation and the suction of the Shop Vac removed part of the insulation, so now instead of a quick turn around repair turns into a few weeks repair, because the insulation is on back order 10-14 days from the supplier. DON"T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!)

Once the glass has been removed, the new inner glass is replaced, begin by re-assemble the oven door with the correct screws and attached the oven door to the range.

Hope this helps

No heat in oven mode
Verified P/N with LG. Took a few days . They sent names of several suppliers, cost was almost double. Ordered part from P/S, here in 2 days. Watched video on you tube. Unplugged, took off back, unplugged bake element, removed power box. The opening for bake element is still attached to rear panel by tiny bits of sheet metal. Used Dremel with cut-off wheel to cut thru nibs & deburr opening. this panel has to be removed, it rests on bottom panel & is held in position by power box. Removed bake element carefully, front of element broken, tried to put new element in, would not fit. Had to grind notches in bottom panel down to clear supports on new element. This did the trick. back together quick & no problems. If had to do again estimate less than 1 hour.. By the way am 81 yrs. young.

Oven would initially start to heat up but would not hold its temp
I searched online and found someone that seemed to have the exact problem. That person had replaced the lower burner and the same PCB board I replaced. I was able to test the lower burner without removing it and it tested OK. The PCB board in the article I had checked was burned and obviously bad but mine was not. I took a chance and ordered just the PCB board. I replaced this board and the oven now works perfectly. I seems this board was not turning on the bottom burner but the system thought it was working fine.
