my control panel shuts off but still runs microwave if you tap on it the led comes back on not sure if its just the panel or the board also
For model number FMV156DCG
Hello David, thank you for your inquiry. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest you replace the touchpad, part number PS979767, to fix the issue. Also check the wiring between touchpad and control board. We hope this solves your problem!
I first removed the top plate above the microwave door (3 screws), then I removed the plate containing the buttons and clock. The microwave has 3 relay switches and they are in a little holder. The holder was too difficult to remove so I just removed the bottom switch and replaced. The microwave started right up.
Removed the retaining clip that keeps the door on, took the door off. Removed the plastic rim that is clipped into place. Removed old screws holding on handle and replaced.
Part arrived in one day. Old part snapped right out and new snapped right in. One minute repair with no more sparking and no need to invest in a new microwave... which is what I thought I was going to have to do.
