Makita Water Pump Piston Ring Set

This is a five-piece piston ring set. The piston ring seals the piston and the cylinder. This seal separates the combustion chamber and the cylinder from the engine's crankcase. A damaged or worn piston ring will allow combustion gases to leak into the crankcase, which leads to low compression. This will cause power loss or an engine that will not run at all. Damage to the ring can happen due to lack of oil, which allows the ring to contact the cylinder, leading to scouring and seizure of the engine. If dirt makes its way into the cylinder this can start to wear down the piston ring. Using old fuel can also cause the ring to stick to the piston causing failure.
