The Pedestal Latch Broke
I found the right part by looking at YouTube videos. Ordered from PartSelect and it arrived within a week. I looked at directions PartSelect had given to others and I also re-watched the videos. To remove the pedestal drawer you need a Phillips screwdriver and an adjustable wrench or the exact size spanner or a socket set (if you have straight-on access which I didn't). I didn't feel like going out to the hardware store so I used my Felco Pruners to remove and reinstall the pedestal drawer. I just held the nut gently in the jaws of the pruners and it worked great for the removal and not quite as well for the reinstall of the drawer, but still ok under the circumstances. The most valuable piece of advice that PartSelect gave someone else is which side of the pedestal latch goes up. It's the side that has an extra indentation. Now that I've put in the new pedestal latch, I'm never using the pedestal drawers again. I've moved all my laundry supplies to baskets on the counter, because I read reports from others that these latches break all the time and I don't relish replacing a $55 part every year or so. However, I'm grateful to PartSelect for having the part, providing instructions, and shipping in a timely manner.

Broken latch on the pedistle drawer.
I slid the unit out from the wall. I tilted it back against the wall to access the latch. I blocked the drawer open and used a phillips screwdriver to remove and replace the latch.

Someone already removed the broken latch and i have the new latch to install but which way is up-- that's all i need to know.

How do you replace the part in the pedestal #137006200
Hi Ken, Thank you for the question.First you will need to remove the drawer.Start by removing the two bolts from each side of the drawer and release the drawer from the tracks. The latch is just held in by two screws and pushed into place. Hope this helps!

Pedestal drawer does not stay closed. I assume I need to get a new drawer latch (Part #PS2349356??). Your Q&A talks about removing a bolt/screw on both sides of the drawer to get it out and get access to the latch. Where are the bolts/screws located on each side of the drawer you are referring to - I don't see them? thanks

Hi Sheldon, thank you for the great question. You will be able to see the screws on either side of the drawer when you slide it out. Take the drawer completely off the sliders by using a screwdriver to remove the two screws. The latch should now be visible and easy to remove. The latch is just held in by two screws, part number PS417085. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you need help placing an order. Glad to be of assistance!
