Dryer makes screeching noise when started, after minute or two becomes quiet and operates as expected. What is problem with drum and is it fixable?
For model number MDE4000AYW
Hello Thomas and thank you for writing.
Of course, this can be fixed. It certainly sounds like it could be a faulty drum support PS1570070 and/or a faulty roller shaft PS11743031, you should check for signs of damage, and replace if necessary. You should also check your belt PS11741110 to make sure it did not become loose or defective. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

Timer knob where D stem fits in is cracked won’t spin dial. It’s all one piece. Do you have replacement?
For model number MDE4000AYW
Hello Karen, thank you for a very interesting question. According to our research, the timer knob does not come into an assembly. You may need to order a timer dial skirt, part number PS11741055, timer knob base, part number PS11739297, and timer knob insert cap, part number PS11739300. We hope this helps!
My dryer makes a loud squealing noise when it starts but quiets down after it runs for about 10 seconds. The squealing is getting worse with each use.

Hi Jay, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would recommend checking the drive belt first. If it is fine, you may need to replace the drum roller kit, part number PS1570070. It holds the drum in place while the drum rotates on the support wheels. We hope this will resolve your problem!
Timer switch will not stop
what part will fix this
For model number MDE4000AYW
Hello Martha, thank you for contacting us. We would suggest making sure the timer dial skirt is engaging properly with the timer. If the issue remains, the problem might be with the timer, part number PS11741062. You may check the timer for damage and also test it for continuity using a multimeter. We hope this helps!
first, I unplug the power supply of the dryer then I removed the two screws at the bottom of the dryer then pulled out the front part of the dryer, unplugged the blue & yellow wire for the on/off switch for the door,at the back of the dryer I unscrew the pannel for the belt, disconect the belt, and I unscrew the four screws on both side of the front pannel to remove the front cover of the drum. Once I removed the front cover of the drum I can now remove the drum itself to access the drum support roller. I unscrew the rollers then replace it with the new once. It was an easy job. Thank you.
